A large silk moth of the Rocky Mountain region with dark reddish-brown wings and white crescent markings. It is the interior mountain counterpart of the cecropia and ceanothus silk moths.

Glover's silk moth was named after Townend Glover, the first federal entomologist of the United States, appointed in 1854.
