Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens or the banded demoiselle)

Demoiselle, also known as Calopteryx splendens or the banded demoiselle, is a delicate damselfly with a slender body and broad, transparent wings marked with dark bands in the male. Its metallic blue or green colouring gives it a striking appearance when resting on riverside plants or moving above the water.
